Jenny Ruddle ~ Artisan Christmas Wreaths

About Jenny Ruddle's Artisan Festive Wreaths

I have been making wreaths for almost a decade. I am terribly pleased that these creations have found homes on lovely doors all around the Waveney and Blyth Valleys - from Bungay to Southwold and often they are carried away much, much further around the UK as unique East Anglian countryside gifts for family and friends.

It is a process I love - from gathering component materials to creating each one carefully as a unique piece of art. Each wreath is made with much consideration and love, this ensures the uniqueness and balance of materials in each wreath.  I have to work with what is available to me as I ramble around the countryside. Changeable weather each year brings with it the possibility of different materials. An example of the different availabilities would be spindle berries, they are festive and so exquisite but, commonly, hard to come by if the weather is not just so and thus are very special when I do get to work with them.

I use all natural materials, the only thing that will not compost is the wire frame and wire pins I use to hold it all in place.  The base is made with moss, which holds plenty of water, keeping the foliage fresh for longer.  They keep for weeks, I have people telling me they've had them up for months after Christmas. For best results though, try keeping them moist, by spraying with water, every few days. Especially if on a sunny door, in windy conditions, or under a porch where the rain can't do the job for you.

Prices start at £25 for a large wreath, enquiries welcome.

Come and see me at the Grand Bazzaar.  A Christmas Fair being held at The Cut, Halesworth on the 1st December 10am till 4pm.
